Volunteer roles

We need your help to keep the Southern Lights sustainable and thriving!

Below is a list of all the volunteer roles required to maintain our club. These roles vary in size and commitment and many are not currently filled.

Current vacancies

Player Wellbeing Manager

A Player Wellbeing Manager focuses on supporting the overall mental and physical health of players in the Lights. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all players.

  • Maintaining contact with coaches and players to monitor player welfare and promptly address concerns.

  • Providing resources and support for mental health and wellbeing.

  • Being the first contact point for complaints, following the processes laid out in our constitution.

  • Following up with players after injuries to ensure documentation is completed.

All volunteer roles

Many of our dedicated volunteers wear multiple hats while managing their own busy lives. As a result, some valuable activities do not get the attention they deserve. Please consider if you could assist with any of these roles or propose new roles we may not have considered yet. Some roles are formal (such as executive or committee members), while others are more casual.

Your involvement, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Let's work together to ensure the Southern Lights continue to shine brightly!

Executive and committee

These positions are filled by club member nomination and election at our Annual General Meeting. If you have questions about nominating for a committee position, please check our about section or get in touch.
